BDS Admission: Outline of Admission Process 
  • All the admissions in the B.D.S. program at Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University will be done through a counseling scheme laid down by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India (Visit: https://mcc.nic.in/UGCounselling/)
  • Any candidate desirous of seeking admission to the M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. programs at Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University shall meet the eligibility criteria laid down by Medical Council of India (MCI) /Dental Council of India (DCI) / DGHS, MCC.
  • The outline of Counseling scheme for admission in Sumandeep Vidyapeeth is as under:
  1. Registration by the Candidate on mcc.nic.in
  2. Online Payment of Registration Charges & Security Deposit (for DEEMED University Category) by Candidate to MCC, Govt. of India
  3. Choice filling by Candidate
  4. Result: Seat Allotted / Seat Not Allotted by MCC
  5. If Seat Allotted then: Reporting to the allotted Institute by the Candidate within stipulated time for:
    1. Verification of Documents
    2. Payment of Educational Fees
    3. Generation of ADMISSION LETTER
  6. If the Seat is Not Allotted, then again Choice Filling by candidate for Subsequent Rounds

  • Those who are paying the fees through NET BANKING shall transfer the amount through NEFT/ RTGS mode only. Please do not transfer the amount through IMPS mode. After successful transaction the candidate must note the UTRNo. and the transaction details shall be filled in Transaction Details Form (http://tiny.cc/svtr)
  • Those who are paying the fees through Demand Draft shall prepare the DD before coming for reporting. The Demand Draft should be in the Name of “Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University” payable at Vadodara.
  • College Security Deposit will be refunded without interest after completion of course and on clearing all dues of the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University.
  • Failure to remit the Educational fees within the notified time limits by the student shall attract the compensatory interest as per the regulations of Institution.
  • Hostel & Mess fees are not to be paid in advance. It shall not be included in the DD/RTGS. It can be paid after the completion of admission process.

    Document required at the time of reporting to the Institution after allotment of Seat (ORIGINAL along with THREE sets of self attested Photocopies):

    A: Documents required for Management Category Candidates:

    1. Admit card of NEET UG
    2. Result / Rank Letter of NEET UG
    3. Allotment Letter issued by MCC
    4. 12th Mark Statement

    6. Proof of Date of Birth (10th Passing Certificate / Birth Certificate)
    7. Proof of Identity (Self Attested Photocopy of Aadhar Card / Voter Card /  PAN Card / Driving License)

    (The candidate who DO NOT have the “Jain Minority Certificate issued by Competent Government Authority” will have to submit the Affidavit Executed before the EXECUTIVE MAGISTRATE, on Stamp Paper of Rs. 100, stating that the Religion of the Candidate is JAIN)

    a.   Affidavit of the person who is NRI and is the sponsor of the Candidate claiming that he / she is financial capable and will sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate.

    b.   Documents claiming that the sponsor is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsor)

    c.   Embassy Certificate of the Sponsor certifying NRI status of the Sponsor.

    d.   All the essential documents (e.g. birth certificate, passport etc) of the family members to establish relationship between Candidate & Sponsor.

    Que.    What is the name of Dental College of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University?

    Ans:    The name of Medical College is “K. M. Shah Dental College & Hospital.” It is a constituent Institute of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University.

    Que.    Where is the Dental College located?

    Ans:    The “K. M. Shah Dental College & Hospital” is located within the campus of the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth University at Piparia, Tal – Waghodia, Dist -Vadodara, Gujarat. 

    Que.    How much is the Duration of the BDS Course?

    Ans:    TThe duration of BDS course is 48 months divided in four professional years. Followed by, there will be a mandatory 12 months Internship.

    Que.    I have not appeared in NEET examination of this year. Am I eligible to participate?

    Ans.:   Please note that in order to become eligible to participate in the counseling for BDS admission, the candidate should have appeared in the NEET examination of the same year and should have scored equal to or above the cut-off score.

    Que.    I have scored less than 50% in PCB group in 12th Std. (HSC) examination. Am I eligible to participate?

    Ans.:   Please note that in order to become eligible to participate in the counseling for BDS admission; the candidate should have scored at least 50% in PCB group in 12th std(HSC) examination. The relaxation in the qualifying rules (for SC/ST/PwD etc) shall be as per the regulations of Dental Council of India (DCI).

    Que.    I want BDS seat at K.M.Shah Dental College & Hospital, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth. How to proceed?

    Ans.    All the seat of BDS, at the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth will be filled up /allotted through a Central Level counseling process conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS), Govt. of India (Central Admission Committee). The BDS seat allotment process is completely online and the official website of the MCC is www.mcc.nic.in

                The candidate willing to take admission in BDS at K.M.Shah Dental College & Hospital,Sumandeep Vidyapeeth shall visit the official website of the MCC and shall follow the guidelines given by them.

    Que.    Are there any seats of Management Quota seats / Jain Minority quota / NRI Quota in BDS Course which can be filled up (allotted) by the University / Management directly?

    Ans.:   No.

    Please note that throughout the country, all the BDS seats can only be allotted by any of the following authorities:

    1. Through the State Counseling (conducted by the Admission Committee of the respective State Government)
    2. Through a Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS), Govt. of India. (Central Admission Committee)

    The MCC, DGHS, GoI is responsible for the allotment of all the seats (100 % seats) of MBBS course in all the Deemed Universities throughout the country including the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth.

    It means that:

    • No Direct admissions at the level of University or College even for Management quota / NRI quota / Jain Minority Quota
    • No Pre-booking of Seats
    • No individual agents / agencies / mediators / counselors are authorized to deal with the admission process.
    • All Candidates and parents shall be aware of fraudsters and shall stay away from indulging in such activities 

    Que.    Can I get a brief overview of the BDS admission process of Medical Counseling Committee (MCC)?

     Ans:   The outline of the process is as below:

    1. After the declaration of NEET result, please visit www.mcc.nic.in This is the official website of the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Sciences (DGHS), Govt. of India. ONLINE PROCESS (For Seat Allotment)
    2. Select “UG Counseling”
    3. Click on “New Registration” & Register”
    4. Online Payment
    5. Choice filling
    6. Result: Seat Allotted
    7. Report to the allotted institute OFFLINE PROCESS (For Reporting to the Allotted Institute for completion of Admission Process)
    8. Scrutiny of Original Documents
    9. Payment of Educational Fees
    10. Admission Process Complete

     

    Que.    If I contact the Admission Office of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth or Register my name at the University office before or during the BDS admission process, will that increase my chances of getting BDS seat at Sumandeep Vidyapeeth?

    Ans.    No.

    As explained above the BDS seat allotment is purely on the basis of Merit of NEET UG examination. No University / Dental College have any role to play in the seat allotment process. Once the seat is allotted to the candidate by the MCC then the candidate is required to report at the allotted Institute for completion of admission process.

    Que.    When does, the BDS seat allotment process by MCC, begin?

    Ans.    The process begins within few days after the declaration of NEET Result. Please keep visiting the online page of mcc.nic.in and study the Counseling schedule” from the MCC website.

                The Counseling Schedule will have the important dates for New Registration, Online Payment, Choice Filling, Result Declaration, and Reporting to the Institution. 

    Que.    Does a candidate need to make any online payment during the “REGISTRATION” on mcc.nic.in?

    Ans.    Yes. The candidate who want to participate in Deemed University counseling for MBBS admission need to make following online payments to MCC, DGHS, Govt of India.

    1. Non Refundable registration charges
    2. Refundable Security Deposit

    Please note:

    • This online payment can be made using CREDIT CARD or NET BANKING only. So the candidates are advised to make the necessary preparations at their end for this before the counseling begins.
    • Without the successful payment of above mentioned charges REGISTRATION is incomplete and the candidate will not be able to proceed for Choice filling.
    • Regarding Refund of the security Deposit paid to the MCC, please read the related terms & conditions from the mcc.nic.in before proceeding.

    Que.    Do I need to upload any documents during the “REGISTRATION” on mcc.nic.in?

    Ans.    No. During the “REGISTRATION” on mcc.nic.in, the candidate will not be required to upload any documents online. 

    Que.    How many rounds will be there for BDS admission process conducted by mcc.nic.in?

    Ans.    Generally there are four rounds. (Round 1, Round 2, Mop Up Round, Stray Vacancy Round). However the details about the number of rounds and their schedule will be available on mcc.nic.in

    Que.    If a candidate fills up choices during a particular round of MCC & if ‘No seat is allotted” during the Result then what next?

    Ans.    If a candidate is not allotted any seat during a particular round, he/she shall participate in subsequent round of counseling conducted by MCC. 

    Que.    What happens to the vacant seats (if any) of BDS after the completion of last round (Mop Up Round) by MCC?

    Ans.    The process of allotment of vacant seats after the completion of MOP UP ROUND will be as per the guidelines of the MCC. Generally, the vacant seats are allotted during the Stray Vacancy Round. All the candidates shall visit mcc.nic.in for the detailed guidelines for the same. Please note: There will not be any pre-booking / advance booking for these seats.

    Que.    I have not registered on MCC website and the seats are vacant during the Stray Vacancy Round. Can I directly participate in Stray Vacancy Round?

    Ans.    No.  Please note, without registration on MCC website during the previous rounds the candidate cannot participate in the Stray Vacancy Round. The MCC published the guidelines for participation in Stray Vacancy Round. The candidates are advised to study the same and proceed accordingly.

    Que.    Can I get guidance on how the seat allotment during the Stray Vacancy Round takes place?

     Ans.   Yes. The information about the conduct of the Stray Vacancy Round will be published by MCC on www.mcc.nic.in for the information to the candidates and the participating Institutions. The candidate and the Participating Institution shall have to mandatorily abide by the directives of MCC. 

    Que.    I am participating in State counseling for BDS admission process. But your college name is not available in state counseling website?

    Ans.    The Sumandeep Vidyapeeth is a Deemed to be University. So as per the regulations of Govt. of India, all the seats of BDS course at “K.M.Shah Dental College & Hospital” a constituent Institute of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University, will be filled up through the central counseling conducted by MCC, DGHS, Govt of India (mcc.nic.in).

    Hence all the candidate who are willing to take admission in BDS at Sumandeep Vidyapeeth shall must register on mcc.nic.in and shall participate in their counseling process.

    Que.    Can I participate in both the State counseling as well as Central Counseling of BDS admission process?

    Ans.    Yes. The candidate can participate in these counseling, the State counseling as well as Central Counseling of MBBS admission process up to a certain stage. Beyond that they are eligible to proceed in either of these channels only. Hence the candidates are advised to study the counseling schemes of both State & Center very carefully so that their candidature is not cancelled.

    Que.    Who is eligible to take admission in NRI quota?

    Ans.    The seat allotment for all NRI seats will be carried out by MCC, Govt. of India only.

    Hence, the candidate needs to fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down by MCC for these seats.

    The candidates who themselves are NRI are eligible.

    The candidate who is Indian National, and whose studies will be sponsored by the NRI relative is also eligible for NRI quota admission. Please note, during 2021-22 admission cycle, for Sponsorship, following NRI relatives of the candidate were permitted by MCC:

    1. Father/Mother
    2. Maternal / Paternal Grandparents
    3. Maternal / Paternal Real Uncle/Aunts
    4. Son/Daughter of real Maternal / Paternal Uncle/Aunts

    Que.    The NRI sponsor happens to be our family friend. Can he/she be considered for sponsorship?

    Ans.    No. Any person, other than the aforementioned relative, will not be considered eligible for the sponsorship as per the MCC regulations. 

    Que.    Which documents are required for NRI Sponsored candidates?

    Ans.    During the admission cycle of previous year (2021-22), the MCC had asked the aspirants who were willing to take admission in NRI / NRI sponsored quota to submit the scanned copies of the following documents through email for scrutiny:

    • Documents claiming that the sponsor is an NRI (Passport, Visa of the sponsor)
    • Valid address proof (Foreign country address) of the sponsor
    • Affidavit of the person who is NRI and the sponsor mentioning Readiness to sponsor the entire course fee of the candidate if selected for the admission
    • NRI status Certificate for Sponsor (issued by the Indian Embassy office of the country where the Sponsor resides)
    • All the essential documents (e.g. birth certificates, passports etc) of the family members to establish the exact relationship between candidate and the sponsor
    • NEET Result/ Rank Letter of the candidate

    Please note:

    • Email ID & the Time lines for submission of Scanned copies of aforementioned documents through email were notified by the MCC under “News & Announcements Section”. Generally MCC gives around 24 to 48 hrs for the submission of the said documents. So it is advisable that the candidate keeps the scanned copy of the said documents handy well in advance. Also the candidates are advised to keep visiting the “News & Announcements Section” of MCC to remain updated on this matter.
    • Physical Copies of these documents were not to be sent to MCC but were required at the time of reporting to the allotted Institution for completion of admission process.

    Que.    I have read the above mentioned eligibility criteria for NRI / NRI sponsored Quota. I have also understood the process of mailing the scanned copies of the enlisted documents to MCC and I will be doing the same in the timely manner. Any other actions are required at my end, so that I can get the admission in BDS under NRI quota at Sumandeep Vidyapeeth? 

    Ans.    The aspirants of NRI sponsored Quota are also required to complete their  “REGISTRATION” & shall make the “ONLINE PAYMENT” on the www.mcc.nic.in  within the time-limits specified for each round.

    After successful “REGISTRATION” & “ONLINE PAYMENT”, the candidate can submit his/her choice of NRI quota seat of a particular college.

    If allotted, then he/she shall report to the allotted institute for completion of admission process.

     

    VENUE / TIMINGS OF REPORTING:

    Que.    I am allotted a seat in Sumandeep Vidyapeeth. When shall I report for admission?

    Ans.    The candidate, who is allotted a seat by MCC, has to report for completion of admission process, physically / in offline-mode, within the timelines prescribed by the Medical Counseling Committee. 

    Que.    How much time does it take for completion of admission processes once the allotted candidate reports?

    Ans.    Usually, it will take 6-8 hours for completion of admission process. The allotted candidate shall report during the pre-lunch session, preferably, so that the process can be completed on the same day.

    Que.    Does the presence of Candidate is mandatory at the time of Admission?

    Ans.    Yes, the physical presence of candidate is mandatory at the time of admission.

    Que.    Can we get a guest room for stay during reporting at the Institution?

    Ans.    The guest room may be availed for stay during reporting. However, it depends on availability at that point of time. You can enquire about the same from the concerned person before coming for reporting (8980803703, 9825781335).

    Que.    I don’t have Transfer Certificate, Migration certificate, domicile certificate, passport. What shall I do?

    Ans.    If some of the documents are not readily available at the time of admission, then the Institution may grant additional period to the candidate for the submission of pending documents. The decision of whether to grant / not to grant any additional period for the submission of the pending documents will be given by the Institution, after the scrutiny of the available documents at the time of admission.

    Que.    I am allotted seat in Jain Minority Category. Which documents are required at the time of reporting?

    Que.    I am allotted seat in Jain Minority Category. But I don’t have all the documents required for Jain Minority Students. What shall I do?

    Ans.    Please bring as many documents as possible to support the claim that the candidate belongs to the Jain Minority Category. If some of the documents are not readily available at the time of admission, then the Institution may grant additional period to the candidate for the submission of pending documents. The decision of whether to grant / not to grant any additional period for the submission of the pending documents will be given by the Institution, after the scrutiny of the available documents at the time of admission.

    Que.    Will my Original Document be retained by the College at the time of admission?

    Ans.    Yes, original documents will be retained by the College & Candidate will receive Document Retention Letter along with admission letter.

    Que.    Do I have to give Bank Guarantee or Security Cheques at the time of admission?

    Ans.    Candidate will have to submit the “Undertaking of the payment of Future Fees” on the stamp paper of Rs 300 along with either the Bank Guarantee or Undated Account Payee Security Cheques, at the time of admission.

    Que.    Do I have to prepare the Legal Undertaking for Future Fees before coming for reporting?

    Ans.    The Institution will make efforts to facilitate the preparation of the Legal Undertaking for Future Fees within the premises of the Institution. The service provider may charge the candidate for the same.

    Que.    How many security cheques I need to bring while coming for admission?

    Ans.    Candidate shall bring minimum 10 security cheques considering the possibility of error in writing the cheques.

    FEES PAYMENT:

    Que.    How much fees I will have of to pay at the time reporting for admission?

    Que.    Will the tuition fee remain the same throughout the course or will there be any annual hike?

    Ans.    Tuition fees will remain the same throughout the course; there will be no annual hike.

    Que.    Can I pay the fees through Account Payee Cheques/ Cash?

    Ans.    No. The remittance of the fees has to be through Demand Draft (in favour of “Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University” payable at “Vadodara”) or through Net banking (NEFT/RTGS only).

    Que.    I have paid Rs 2,00,000/- as Security Deposit to MCC at the time of Registration. Will this be adjusted in my tuition fees of College?

    Ans.    No, it will not be adjusted in tuition fees. The candidate has to pay entire First year tuition

    fees along with the college security deposit at the time of admission.

    Que.    What are the fees for Hostel & Mess services?

    Que.    Is Hostel & Mess Mandatory for all the students?

    Ans.    No, it is not mandatory.

    UP-GRADATION TO OTHER COLLEGE

    The details for this year are not yet announced on the MCC website. The information given below is per the regulations of MCC for the previous year’s (2021-22) admission cycle. The regulations of this year may be by MCC. 

    Que.    I am allotted a seat in Round 1 but I don’t want to take admission on this seat. I will opt for other seat in next round or I may take admission through state counseling. Do I need to do any process for that?

    Ans.    No. You don’t have to do any process in case you don’t want to take admission on this seat. You can simply mail to the institution that you are not reporting for admission.

    Que.    I am allotted a seat in Round 1. I want to secure this seat and also try for other college in Round 2, what shall I do?

    Ans.    In such case, the allotted candidate shall report to the Institution. He/she shall complete the entire admission process of Round 1At the time of admission process the willingness of the candidate for participation in next round will be obtained and the same will be uploaded to the MCC portal by the college. Thus the candidate can participate in the Round 2. If any seat is allotted in Round 2, then Round 1 seat will be automatically cancelled. If no seat is allotted during Round 2, then the Round 1 seat remains. 

     

    Que.    I have taken admission at Sumandeep Vidyapeeth. Now I want to cancel the same.  

    A) What is the Admission Cancellation Process? B) When will I get my documents? C) How much amount will be refunded?

    Ans.    A) Admission Cancellation Process

    The candidate, who is willing to cancel the admission, shall personally report to the Dept. of Central Admission, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University (during the official hours) and shall submit the request in the prescribed format. Admission Cancellation request through a representative will not be entertained.

    B) Documents hand over:

    You will get the documents on the same day of admission cancellation.

    Que.    What is the last date for cancellation of admission?

    Ans.    It will be notified as per the MCC rules & regulations.

    Que.    When shall I start attending the college after admission?

    Ans.    It will be as per the notification of Dental Council of India (DCI)

    CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION AND REFUND / RECOVERY OF EDUCATIONAL FEES:

    (Please Note: The regulations of the Institution for Cancellation of Admission and Refund / Recovery of Educational Fees, are subject to change/ amendments as per the directives of the Competent Authority. The candidate / students are advised to contact the Dept of Central Admission, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University, for confirmation of the same.)

    If a student chooses to withdraw from the program of study in which he/she is enrolled, the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University (SVDU) shall follow the following system for the refund/ recovery of educational fees.

    A) For M.B.B.S. / B.D.S / M.D. / M.S. / M.D.S. / D.M. / M.CH./ B.A.M.S./ B.H.M.S. Programs: 

    For a candidate who is admitted in aforementioned programs at SVDU through the counseling conducted by the respective competent authorities (MCC / AACCC/ etc), the applicable regulations for cancellation of admission and refund / recovery of educational fees shall be as under:

    SCENARIO REFUND /  PENALTY DETAILS*
    Scenario A:

    The candidate:

    i. resigns from the admitted seat, within time limits as stipulated by competent authority

    OR

    ii. gets upgraded to other Institution through a counseling conducted by a competent authority

     For students of M.D. / M.S./ M.D.S. / D.M. / M.CH. Programs:

    • Rs. 25,000/- will be deducted from the Tuition fees paid by the candidate at the time of admission. Remaining amount will be refunded within 7 working days.

    For M.B.B.S. / B.D.S / B.A.M.S./ B.H.M.S programs:

    • Rs. 10,000/- will be deducted from the Tuition fees paid by the candidate at the time of admission. Remaining amount will be refunded within 7 working days.
    Scenario B:

    The candidate admitted in any round, resigns / withdraws / discontinues the course / admission is cancelled due to any reason whatsoever, any time after the permissible time limits for resignations, as stipulated by the competent authorities, then

    The candidate is liable for :

    • a) Forfeiture of entire fees paid at the time of admission, and
    • b) The unconditional bank guarantee or undated security cheque/s deposited by the candidate at the time of admission in favor of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University for the tuition fees of remaining years of entire course duration will be redeemed by the Institution. The Sumandeep Vidyapeeth will have the authority to recover the entire penalty amount by appropriate legal procedures.

    B. FOR ALL OTHER PROGRAMS OF THE INSTITUTION

     NOTE:

    • *Caution money / Security deposit, which are not part of the fees chargeable, shall be refunded in full.
    • In case of (1) in the table above, the Institution shall deduct an amount not more than 5% of the annual tuition fees paid by the student, subject to a maximum of Rs. 5,000/- as processing charges from the refundable amount.
    • Fees shall be refunded by the Institution to an eligible student within fifteen working days from the date of receiving a written application from him/her in this regard.
    • In case of point (5#) in the table above, if the student leaves the course or in the event of cancellation of his / her admission, due to any reason whatsoever, anytime after the 30 days of formally – notified last date of admission, the student is liable for payment of the fees for the remaining period of complete tenure of his/her program of study, to the Sumandeep Vidyapeeth Deemed to University, as the seat will remain vacant thereafter. In that event, Sumandeep Vidyapeeth has all the rights to recover the payment of the fees for the remaining period of complete tenure of his/her program of study, by redeeming unconditional bank guarantee / Un-dated cheques submitted by the student at the time of admission or through any other appropriate legal procedure against the student/parent/guardian for the recovery of entire outstanding amount against him/her.
