Registration to Gyandeep -2020 is mandatory pre-requisite for participation in scientific events.

One student can participate in maximum of one individual event and two group events.

  • Scientific Registration form needs to be filled for enrolling in any scientific event (Link:……)

  • All the events are open for participation to under graduate students, interns and post graduate students.
  • Faculty participation is permissible only for e poster presentations

GUIDELINES FOR DEBATE COMPETITION

  1. Registration of conference is prerequisite for participation in debate competition.
  2. 3 participants are allowed in one team.
  3. Last date of registration is 15/12/2019.
  4. The team leader has to mention names of all the members at the time of registration and members should be registered.
  5. Topics will be given one day prior to the event, but for semi-finals and finals the topics will be given on the same day 15 mins prior to the event.
  6. The teams should be prepared for all the topics(for andagainst) given a day before. The topic for each team shall be decided by picking up chits and “for or against” will be decided by coin toss.
  7. The Debate competition will be conducted in 3 rounds:
    • First round- Introductory (for 1 min)
    • Second round- Discussion (for 3 min)
    • Third round- Concluding (for 1 min)
  1. The Judge’s decision will be final.
  2. After elimination round ,4 teams will be selected for semifinalsand 2 teams will be selected for final.
  3. The language used should be “English”.

Dental PhotoComp-The Photoholics’ Platform

“A picture can speak a thousand words”

 

Dental PhotoComp is a debut entrant and an interesting addition to the exuberating list of events in Gyandeep 2020.It is a photography contest, intended to give a forum to the passionate photographers among the young budding dentists. The competition aims to amalgamate passion, purpose and profession in a picturesque way.

The Guidelines of the event are as follows:

  1. Competition is open to Dental UG Students, PG students and faculty.The photographs for the competition may be based on any of the following themes:

– Human touch in Dental Care (Theme code: HTDC)

– Colours in Dentistry (Theme code: CD)

– Sculpting Smiles in the Community (Theme code: SSC)

– The New Age Dentist (Theme code: NAD)

  1. Entry should be as an individual; Group entries are not allowed.
  2. A maximum of two photograph entries per person will be allowed in 2 different themes only.
  3. All pictures for the competition should be of original work, using own idea based on the competition theme. Downloaded pictures from internet source are strictly not permitted and infringement of copyrighted work is strongly condemned by the organizers; such entries will be disqualified
  4. The photographs should not depict sensitive issues including religion, race and politics etc.
  5. Action in the picture should be decent and according to society norm.
  6. All entry needs to be sent in digital format (JPEG). Name the image file to be uploaded in the format:
    • Themecode- Gyandeep Registration Number; eg. HTDC-XXXXX)
  7. Contestants are required to send pictures with high resolution (300ppi).
  8. Photo should not promote any specific brands.
  9. No entries will be entertained beyond the last date of submission.
  10. There shall be a preliminary screening and judging of the photographs. Subsequently, the participants whose entries have been selected for the final round will be intimated.
  11. On the day of finals, all the finalist entries will be displayed before the audience and the jury.
  12. Decision of the judges is final.

Dental Video Presentations

The Guidelines of the event are as follows:

  1. Competition is open to Dental UG Students and PG students
  2. The video presentation themesforUG Students are:
    • Dento Decora (Theme code: DD)Self -made video demonstration of any artistic creation using dental materials.
    • Dentistry’s Funniest Videos (Theme Code: DFV) Self- made videos capturing comical situations in dental clinic/college, orchestrated mishaps and staged pranks.
  3. The video presentation themes for PG Students are:
    • Novel Techniques (Theme Code: NT) Self-made video-presentation of novel or clinically modified useful techniques in dental procedures.
    • Oral Health Educational Videos(Theme Code: OHEV)Self-made impactfulvideos/short movies for oral health education.
  4. 2-4 participants are allowed to submit their video as a group. The role undertaken by each person has to be specified in the mail.
  5. A maximum of five video presentation entries per institution will be allowed.
  6. All entries for the competition should be submitted as digital video of original work, using own idea based on the competition theme.   14. Videos will be judged under UG and PG categories. There shall be a preliminary screening and judging of the videos. Subsequently, the participants whose entries have been selected for the final round will be intimated.
  15. On the day of finals, all the finalist entries will be displayed before the audience and the jury.
  16. Decision of the judges is final.

E-POSTER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

(FOR FACULTY/STUDENT-UG & PG)

Theme of Poster:

  • For Faculty: Innovations in Dentistry
  • For Student: Recent advances in Dentistry
  1. Registration of conference is mandatory for e-poster presentation.
  2. Students may present Research/Clinical/General poster based on the given theme.
  3. Faculty should present their Original Innovationin the fields of dental practice/dental education/dental research
  4. Only One participant will be allowed per poster.
  5. Poster should be made in Only One Slide of Power point in 16:9 ratio and converted in PDF/JPEG Format for submission.
  6. Poster should be self-explanatory with minimum text and maximum illustration.
  7. Duration of presentation of poster is 2 minutes followed by 1 minute for Discussion.
  8. Presenter needs to mention his/her Registration Id Number onlyat lower Right corner of poster.
  9. Submit your poster to Email id: __________________________________ only.
  10. Last date for Poster submission is 15/12/2019
  11. In case of any conflict, decision of scientific committee will be final.

GUIDELINES FOR DENTAL QUIZ COMPETITION

In the colours of dentistry, does ‘Gray Matter’ ?

  • The participants should be registered delegates to Gyandeep conference 2020.
  • The last date to enrol into the quiz competition is 15th December, 2019.
  • The competition is for undergraduates and interns only.
  • 4 teams will play the final quiz before the audience.
  • Total number of participants per team should strictly be 5. 1 student per year and 1 intern.
  • 4 rounds will be conducted during the quiz competition.
  • The questions asked in the quiz competition will be from the undergraduate course prescribed by DCI.
  • A preliminary pen and paper qualifying round will be conducted on Day 1 of Gyandeep to shortlist the final teams.
  • Quiz Master’s decision will be final and binding in case of any conflicts.
  • Participants not complying with the prescribed guidelines will be disqualified.

Guidelines for street play

  1. Registration of conference is prerequisite for participation in street play
  2. Preliminary / Elimination round is a qualifying round for the event those participants who fail to appear in the qualifying round shall not be considered for the finals
  3. Use of any audio video aids such as background music, microphone, projector etc is prohibited. Teams can sing / dance by themselves to create the necessary music or sound.
  4. The theme of the street play should be relevant to Health education / Dental health education
  5. The time allowed for each team is minimum 6 minutes and maximum 10 min
  6. The maximum number of participants for each team is 10. All the participants must be from same college
  7. Any costumes, Props etc and its expenses should be managed by the respective teams
  8. The decision of the judges will be final and binding
  9. Language of play: Gujarati or Hindi
  10. No time for stage practice / final rehearsal will be given during the fest

Guidelines for Table Clinics

  • Registration of conference is prerequisite for participation in Table Clinics competition.

The table clinic presentation should be an original, interesting information as a clinical, para-clinical or laboratory technique; theory; service; trend; or expanded opportunity in the practice of dentstry and/or the realm of oral health. Your table clinic should be simple and direct with an element of action to stimulate attention and interest.

Guidelines:

  1. All displays, including charts, models, projector and screen must be confined to the table top. Signs hanging down from the table toward the floor are not permitted.
  2. The table provided will be 3 feet long x 2 feet wide, counter top high (about 4feet high). An electrical outlet will be supplied upon request only.Your table top display must not extend more than three feet above the table top. Tables will be draped and covered by participants.
  3. Power point presentations and flash presentations may be used as adjuncts. However, their use must be confined to the table top. Sound is not permitted on the monitor and the monitor or computer must not interfere with the surrounding clinics. Participants must arrange for their own laptops for display of these adjunct presentations.
  4. A maximum of three participants are allowed per table clinic.
  5. Time of the presentations must not exceed 8 minutes (presentation 5 min and viva 3 min).
  6. The participant will be responsible for the care and safety of all the instruments and materials
  7. On a separate page, please attach a brief abstract and submit it with this application. This application will not be accepted without abstract.Applications received after 15 Dec 2019 will not be accepted.
  8. Abstract will be blindly reviewed by the Table Clinics Committee for inclusion in the program.
  9. No one, other than the Student Clinicians and Judges will be permitted in the presentation area during the judging session. Students must remain at their assigned area during the entire judging session.

 

  1. Categories for Table Clinics:The table clinics must be presented in any one of the two categories listed below:

CATEGORY I –Clinical Application and Techniques

This may show preventive, restorative, surgical or diagnostic procedures, or it may concern itself with materials or devices directly related to dental care. It may include material which advocates one clinical technique or another with proper research background and evidences. A table clinic comprising any clinical research and\or advocating a clinical technique belongs in this category.

CATEGORY II –Basic Science and Research

This is a table clinic demonstrating a method or result of some research which may or may not have direct relevance to clinical dentistry. It maydisplay the application of one of the basic sciences (dental materials, dental anatomy and physiology, general anatomy, microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, etc.) to the art and science of dentistry. A table clinic involving biological, physical or social sciences research project may also belong to this category.

  • Handout Materials: Participants may prepare handouts for any additional information, to be distributed to the observers at the time of the presentation. It will be the student’s responsibility to arrange to have available sufficient copies of handout materials for distribution.
